Making a splash in city centre daycare

Following the success of their first visit to Kirk House last year, children (aged 3-5 years) from Puddleducks were excited to join their new friends for a second morning of fun and activities.  But it wasn't just the children who were looking forward to it!  The residents were delighted to once again welcome the children to their home and to enjoy sharing in their energy and zest for life.

A group of our Cygnets children had an exciting morning of fun and games with some of the residents of BCM Kirk House (Housing with Care for older people). We taught the residents some of our favourite action songs, blew and caught bubbles, played with the balloons and parachute and then drew pictures that the residents can keep in their room before we shared our Haribo sweeties!

The children and residents really enjoyed their time together this morning and we would love to be able to do this more often!

It's hard to believe, but Puddleducks Day Nursery was launched exactly five years ago, on 1st June 2012. Puddleduck's Manager- Sharon and Deputy Manager- Vicky have been with us from the beginning and we would like to say a big thank you to them for their passion, professionalism and dedication.

The nursery was launched by Finance Minister Sammy Wilson who had a great fun riding a trike with Libby and Reuben Conway.

It was an incredibly inspiring day for Sharon (Puddleducks Manager) who attended a masterclass facilitated by Dr. Suzanne Zeedyk, who is a research scientist and an inspirational speaker.

We are planning to develop our outdoor play space. The works are due to start on 4th April and should take a few days to complete. This may mean a little disruption to our outside play times but we will try to keep this to a minimum. The photos show you some of the ideas we are hoping to introduce to enhance the play and learning opportunities for the children during outdoor play times!

Thank you.
