Avid listeners of BCM's podcast 'Because Caring Matters', will already know that we have covered topics such as dementia and hoarding that typically affect those in the later stages of life. But what about the early stages of life?
In an episode recorded in the summer we were talking about early years childhood development and the work being carried out by Sharon and her team at Puddleducks. Sharon and Chris (host) were joined in the studio by Deirdre McLaughlin of Connected for Life and Hari, a mother who has had two children through Puddleducks.
Puddleducks has been spearheading a revolution of early years childcare and development since it opened its doors in June 2012. Consistently rated one of the top nurseries in the city, if not Northern Ireland, by the parents and families of its young charges, Puddleducks was named the Best Nursery in the whole of the UK at the Nursery Management Today awards in 2018.
We are delighted to announce that our city centre based day nursery has reopened and we have implemented a range of measures that will keep all our children, you their family and our team safe and well.
We are complying with all the guidelines to protect the health and safety of everyone in our Puddleducks family. And, like everything we do…we will also do a little extra!
By way of an overview of some of the steps and initiatives that have been introduced, these have included:

Puddleducks staff are delighted to have won an award at the NMT Nursery Awards 2018 in the category of Individual Nursery 2018. Only four other nurseries had been shortlisted in this category with Puddleducks being the ONLY ONE in Northern Ireland. Final judging took place in October with results announced early December. This is a national award so Puddleducks are incredibly proud and excited to have won. Nursery Manager Sharon says,
